Dr. Meredith Sissons
Dr Meredith Sissons is a paediatrician who specialises in developmental paediatrics. She has clinical expertise in working with children and adolescents where there are concerns about learning, development and behaviour
Professional Background
Having grown up in Canberra, Meredith has returned to provide a specialist paediatric developmental service for local families. She completed her undergraduate medical degree at Flinders University in South Australia in 1997 and then paediatric training through the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.
Meredith has worked in a number of tertiary developmental referral centres in metropolitan Sydney including the Sydney Children’s Hospital, and most recently held a Staff Specialist position with the Community Paediatric and Child Health Service in Canberra. During this time she established strong links with local allied health therapists and the Autism Assessment Team at Therapy ACT. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Society of Australasia.
Meredith is qualified to administer the Griffiths Mental Development Scale and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule where required to assist in the diagnostic process. She believes in working closely with parents, teachers and therapists to help children reach their full potential.
